The weather is beautiful so outdoor work fills my days. Once the sun sets, I pick up my needle...and frequently nod off. But, still, I'm making some progress on my old quilt.
In the meantime, I'm still working on this journal that documents the mess in Washington, D.C.
However, you can imagine the difficulty of keeping up with such relentless news cycles.
The cast of characters rivals the Cirque du Soleil.
The words and expressions continue to intrigue me.
The problem:
I don't see how all this can end well...
for anybody...

One doesn't have to look far for more crazy news. Maybe that guy is trying to make up for the attention he missed when the hurricanes were taking over the news.
I love how that quilt is coming along. Your drawings are great, too...and I admire your ability to stick with each day's madness long enough to capture it in ink. It is such a mess...and I fear it will never end.
It shall only end when he's sent away I'm afraid. Keep your fingers crossed that that day is near. Now even two republican senators/politicians are leaving out of shame of his behavior....Love how you make drawings of this all, too litlle paper to get it all I supppose...:)
Oooooooohhh Nadia, LOVE that woven bit of your needle turned appliqué !!!!!!!
Love your drawing (ha, not necessarily the subjects .... ;-) ...)
It cannot end well. We have had the comfortable illusion that America was a step above the rest...Now we have the reality...a crisis.
My old quilt with the holes....Maybe I should patch it with love. Not the applique that you do, but orphan blocks that I love and have no where to put...then the love in my red and white quilt can continue. xo
You're so right in thinking that it can't end well - but I have to say that I'm praying that it WILL end (and soon!). I try very hard not to even listen to the news because I get so upset about the stupidity that each day tries to outdo the last. Good thing we can console ourselves with our stitching!
I've stopped watching the news - too negative. I've decided to look forward to the next election and focus on the things I can change in my life. I also try to help others, donate my time to my community. Keep busy and turn off that TV! Love your artwork though...very inspiring! I bought some art supplies... not sure if I will do anything as good as your's, but it's good therapy.
