The Biscuit Bandit Strikes Again

Inevitably, the newest addition to the family, Biscuit Bandit aka Bibi, has found his way into my textile sketchbook/journal. It all started when I attempted to sew on The Pomegranate Tree Quilt and he plopped himself down upon it under the warmth of the lamp and promptly fell asleep.

Seeing that the planned evening of work wasn't proceeding smoothly, I took a fabric-covered page from my sketchbook and drew Bibi in his (deceptive) angelic, sleeping innocence.

Then I put on some loud rock music and pinned snippets from my scrap bag to the page in a mad frenzy. Bibi woke up and wanted to get in on the action.

At first, he observed closely.

Then, in a grab for attention, he gnawed on the presser foot lever and sent the spool of thread flying.

Despite his enthusiasm, I managed to keep stitching.

However, Bibi apparently does not appreciate Dire Straits and Led Zeplin cranked up to full-blast volume. He stalked out of the room.

But, never fear, on to new adventures.

He knocked a couple pens to the floor in the living room, then sneakily did some reconnaissance at the dining table (off-limits and doesn't he know it!) where I had been painting watercolors.

I later found two brushes under the refrigerator

He proceeded to shred the toilet paper (one of his favorite toys),
two paper napkins, a paper towel and a kleenex, and knocked over my waste paper basket for good measure.

Then, he tipped over the old laptop, which crashed to the floor and gave up its soul.
Teenagers!

wonderful quilt journal. what a sweetie pie. LOVE that photo of kitty trying to eat the sewing machine. So familiar. My kittens were terrors the first 6 months we had them, then got bored with all the quilting stuff. All I have to worry about now is the design wall (excellent for climbing). Annabelle hardly ever destroys toilet paper now that she's almost 2 yrs old.

How familiar I am with all that mischief! Our daughter's cat Dinah is at just that age and into everything, just no telling what she will do next. What fun to see your sketches and the chewing of the sewing machine is priceless!

for every calm and placid cat, there seems to be one with ADHD! On the other hand, he is quite entertaining.

Really sorry to hear about the dead lap-top and other mishaps, but how wonderful to turn them (or at least the cause of them) into a lovely piece of art. Both the art and the cat look adorable, but one seems safer than the other - but would you chose the safer option?

Wow. I love your beautiful pictures and he/she is really a bad kitty, but you made a great story and quilt of it!

Bibi is a beauty and a terror but we love them don't we. My Sophie has decided that my earbuds are her own personal play toy and insists I move them around for her entertainment. Great job on the quilt :-)

I'm sorry. I laughed. I was so reminded of our Cosmo when he was roughly the same age (well, to be truthful he hasn't changed much even now in his older years).

Oh yes....those pesky teenagers. It's a shame they are so cute!

I'm giggling so hard, I can barely type! We were just reminiscing earlier today about three kitties I had many years ago having to be right on my lap when I sewed, crocheted or knitted. They thought they were such good helpers! Thanks for bringing back precious memories. Your kitty quilt is wonderful and hysterical.
